I would like to do a one day bicycle trip in Florence out to the countryside. Does anyone know of a reputable company that does these tours. I would like to get one that has insurance. Thanks

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. What I mean by insurance is insurance for their vehicle. If for some reason I needed to be transported as in sometimes the companies have a "sag wagon," I would want to know they are reputable and have insurance.

Can you please clarify: insurance for what? you damaging the bike, someone else, or yourself?
Do you know whether your US health insurance covers you in Italy? Some travelers are shocked to learn that their US health insurance does not cover them in Europe. This starts to be a concern to some, who are planning activities like driving and cycling, where personal injury is, unfortunately, a possibility, and where the cost of medical care or medical evacuation to the US could potentially be a substantial and burdensome cost.

We used Best Tuscan Tours for a one-day private cycling tour from Florence. Dominick (the owner) was the best--rented a bike from him, and he took my husband on his Italian club ride! I recommend him highly. His website is http://www.besttuscantours.it/

Hi Karen, thanks for the link. I wrote them and look forward to hearing a response. Most of the tours I have seen for one day go to a villa for wine, lunch, etc and only do about 13 miles. They have an option more suited to our desires. I hope it works out and is not too pricy. Thanks again.
