Our friend is flying into Brindisi and rather than taking a long bus ride we thought we could go pick her up. We are staying in Martina Franca and will be staying there for another two days after picking her up. Any suggestions where we could meet halfway and enjoy a day out as well as have our friend not travel as far? After MF we will be going to Lecce.

Ostuni is halfway and had plenty of places to eat and is fun to walk around in --- the oldest part of town, I mean. We stayed in the old town for a week during our last trip to Puglia and loved it. It got busy with tourist at Easter (we were there in late March/early April), but was quiet before that.
Ostuni sounds perfect. She can get there by train from Brindisi. Pick her up at the station, which is below the town itself.
Awesome then that is what we will do :)
