I just found out I need to get from Florence to Naples the last day of my trip to fly home the next morning. I would like to have this ticket in advance so I can take the specific time I want and not miss out on my whole day in Florence. What is the website for this? I thought I read on the forum a while back to be careful about this so asking in advance. thank you, everyone on here has been so helpful! I leave in 3 weeks, thank you so much!
https://www.trenitalia.com/content/tcom/en.html
Or
https://www.italotreno.it/en
Both official sites
Both run fast trains
Both have easy to use apps
OMIO...great app and best prices I've found.
OMIO is a reseller whose tickets are more expensive than those sold by the companies that run the trains and set the fares.
Without mentioning that they have no obligation to show all trains on their site. Or that, in case of problems, you don't want to face Trenitalia's customer service holding a ticket sold by a third party.
Serenyoga, if you subscribe to Italo's newsletter you could still receive a discount code. Note that those tickets are cheaper because they come with many restrictions. Read the T&C carefully.
Use the Trenitalia app.
or save money with Italo and have an even better ride
Thank you everyone! I am not sure exactly which routes I do need to buy in advance. I am doing Rome to Orvieto. Pisa to La Spezia and Florence to Naples. I am thinking I for sure need to get Florence to Naples ahead because that is how we are getting home :)
If you know your dates and times then you can purchase the Florence to Naples fast train in advance if you’d like to take advantage of any discounts
Those discounted tix have restrictions ( usually no changes/refunds)
All the others are regional so no need to purchase in advance although you could if you want to
Trenitalia runs both regional and fast trains
ItaloTreno runs just fast trains
