Best way to travel from Firenze Rifredi to Piazza San Marco

I didn't realize till I carefully read my train ticket that it didn't arrive at Stazione Santa Maria Novella, it actually arrives at Firenze Rifredi. What is the best way to travel to Piazza San Marco? Thank you for your comments.

Is "best" fastest or cheapest? You can take a connecting train from Firenze Rifredi to Firenze SMN, or you could take a taxi directly to Piazza San Marco from Rifredi.

That station was my playground until I was 7 year old. I lived 50 meters from it in my early childhood years.
I don't know if that station has standing taxis. It wasn't the case when I was there but now the station has grown in importance in more recent years.
Aside from a taxi, the fastest way is the bus no. 20 which stops near the station on via Fantonii and takes you to Piazza San Marco. No changes required.

Thank you, Roberto and Zoe, for your comments. I have been reading about Rifredi but I couldn't really tell if they had bus or taxi service. You would think it would have both because it is a major station. I had read that you could catch a train to SMN, but sounds like it defeats the purpose of arriving there. Both of your suggestions are appreciated!

The purpose of using Rifredi, like the other minor station in Firenze Campo di Marte, is that they are through stations. The major station, Santa Maria Novella, is a dead end station so that through trains have to change ends which is much slower than a normal stop, including the driver having to walk from one end of the train to the other.

We just changed trains there in May. It was a Sunday so not much going on, a very small office. Just a pit stop in the road. I did not see taxis or buses. Be careful we really had to watch our stuff, it did not seem like a good part of town. Which we were surprised at. Lots of young adults just hanging around watching everyone.
