I don't see any direct flights, either from Florence or Pisa. Fastest train is 7 hours and 17 minutes with a single change in Turin.

The train Sam mentioned is the best you can get. The flights are pretty expensive, and a 450 mile car ride would be tough with the Swiss Alps to cross.

Train to Turin's Porta Susa station, not Porta Nuova, if you are taking an SNCF French train from Turin to Lyon.
On the other hand, travelling all the way from Florence to Lyon with Trenitalia you could change in Milano Centrale station instead of Turin.

There used to be a non stop flight from FLR to LYS, with AirFrance Hop!, a low cost subsidiary of AF, but Covid took care of that flight. I think AirFrance Hop! also halted the non stop from Bologna. So unless Lufthansa or AirFrance have a good deal via Frankfurt or Paris, you are better off with the train option suggested above.

The fastest and easiest way to travel between these two cities by air is to charter a plane.

Flying commercially requires a change of plane and airport security and other restrictions. Train is "easier" and probably more comfortable.

The French TGV from Milan & Turin no longer stops at Lyon Part Dieu but at the airport, so the only option is Trenitalia (which is not a bad thing!), with a connection in Milano Centrale or Torino Porta Susa.

Thank you everyone for sharing your info. I like the suggestion to charter a plane. Oh if only life were that simple!!😂😂 Looks like I'll be on the train.
