We are 4 adults travelling around Italy by road. We travel from Florence to Sorrento and will stay in Sorrento for 3 nights. We plan on doing one day trip to Capri and one day trip to Pompeii. We then have to travel to Amalfi Town where we have booked to stay for 2 nights. We will be travelling with our luggage and wanted to see Positano and Ravello either when we are in Amalfi or on our way to Amalfi. Would it be very expensive to hire a car from Sorrento to take us to Positano (which is on the way to Amalfi Town I think) and we can stop there and spend a short time and then the car can drop us off at our airbnb place in Amalfi. Or should we take a private bus (in case the SITA buses are full) to Amalfi and once we are there look for a day trip to Positano and Ravello and Maiori etc.? Please advise

Carrie, "by road" often means by rental car. You are or are not traveling to Sorrento with a rental vehicle?
Not with a rental vehicle either by hired car or by bus. I heard SITA buses are too crowded and busy to travel with luggage. My question is when we move from Sorrento to Amalfi can we visit Positano on the way despite the fact that we have our luggage and then once settled in Amalfi are there day trips to Ravello and Maiori
In other words we want to see Ravello, Positano, Maoiri when we are in Amalfi but have only one day to do so. What is the best way.
Also what is the best way for 4 people to travel from Sorrento to Amalfi with luggage - not too expensive.
