Best way to get to Padua Italy

Greetings all,

My wife and I will be on the RS tour for Village Italy - we are looking at ideas for the best
way there from Houston IAH. Millan or Venice? Once in Italy is Bus or Taxi best way?

Thanks

Hi. You might want to consider the train. I can speak from experience re Venice to Padua. The train is fast and direct. The logistics of getting from the airport in Venice to the bus station or the train station would be about the same. I took the train one direction and the bus the other. I preferred the train. Not sure if there is another bus directly from the airport, though.

Check out both ways here http://www.rome2rio.com/

Village Italy has been one of my favorite tours. Enjoy.

I would fly to Venice and take the train to Padova (the Italian spelling). Will you have a couple of nights in Italy before you have to be in Padova? If so, stay in Venice proper (meaning on the island), and get train tickets from Santa Lucia train station to Padova.

If you are going directly from the Venice airport to Padua, there is a shuttle bus that connects the airport to Padua (Padova in Italian).

If you stay in Venice (the city) first for a few days, then from Venice the best way is to take the train to Padua.

Flying to Milan might give you slightly cheaper airfare prices, but then the savings would be offset by a longer trip and the train fare. So I'd fly to Venice, even if a bit more expensive than Milan.

When we did Village Italy we did exactly what Debbie suggested to you. We spent 3 nights in Venice (on the Island) and then took the train from Santa Lucia to Padova. It was easy and convenient and we had gotten over jet lag before the tour started. I would do it exactly that way again. You'll love the Village Italy trip and have a great time!

I meant to say "do what Michael suggested" stay in Venice before the tour! and take the train.
