Best way to get from Venice to Sorrento

I see we can take a train from Venice to Sorrento but it will take 7 hours. Is there a better way to travel to Sorrento?

Thanks in advance,
Ronda

Not really
You can fly to Naples but when you add up the time and expense it takes to get to VCE and from NAP to Sorrento it’s probably a wash

We took train from Salerno to Venice that was about 7 hours
Honestly we enjoyed it-took lunch, read, napped
It was a nice break mid trip for us

Also note the fast train will get you to Naples where you have option of local train-Circumvesuviana or a private driver to take you to Sorrento

Trains are relaxing.
Airports are stressful.

I did this trip. We took the train, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable trip. The coffee on the train was memorable. We met a young nurse from Australia who was traveling alone. Our conversations with her were very interesting and helped to pass some of the time. The scenery was great. It's probably quicker to travel by choo choo than it is to go through the hassle of airports.

Just to repeat from Christine's post above, there's no direct train from Venice to Sorrento. You will need to change trains in Naples to the Circumvesuviana commuter train or hire a driver to Sorrento. Venice to Sorrento is a long way so yes, however you do it will eat a big chunk of a day.
