We are staying in Rome for a few days and then have reservations in Positano. Would like recommendations on how to travel down to Positano. Would also love any suggestions on restaurants, things to see and do on the Amalfi coast. First time and checking it off my bucket list" Trip is in May.
Thank you
Transport options are mapped out on this website. Best method for you will depend on what you're comfortable with and how much you are willing to spend.
You can take a direct high speed train to Salerno, then a ferry to Positano.
Skipping the expense of a private car, the Salerno option is the best. I don't have restaurant recommendations but Sal de Riso in Minori has the best pastries in Italy. They also have gelato but after eating the pastries . . . . For me, the best thing was just to go along the coast from end to end and back and enjoy the scenery. Sadly, my visit was in winter when the ferries don't run. I think the views would be as stunning and very different from the water. Do ride the bus, sit on the sea side for the views.
