Hello,
I need to get from Minori (in Southern Italy) to Florence. Can someone tell me the cheapest and most time efficient way to get there? I would like to take the train to Florence and it would probably require taking a bus (or taxi if it's cheap) from Minori to the nearest major train station. Also, how do I book the train ticket in advance? Thank you!
I don't know the price difference of bus v ferry, but I would definitively take the ferry to Salerno, and the port is a short walk from the train station:

As above- ferry to Salerno then fast train to Florence.
What time of year? ferries stop running mid to late October.
Station name: Firenze SM Novella
Thank you both for the replies. Good to know that the ferries stop running. It'll be in mid-October so it looks like there's still ferry tickets available. Do you know if I should be taking the ferry to Salerno Concordia or Salerno Aeropuerto?
You want to got to Salerno Concordia. Salerno Aeropuerto is the airport they've recently reopened and that destination makes no sense unless they've created a ferry+bus combo ticket.
The main ferry dock in Salerno is a short walk up to the train station once you've walked from the jetty to the actual shore.
Two companies run ferries from Minori to Salerno so check the schedule and maybe buy tickets a day or two ahead of time. If you are not going to Amalfi or Positano there is less demand for the ferries and while still busy in late October we always just walked up and got tickets for something leaving in the next 15 minutes or so.
Have a great trip,

Thank you!
