Best way to get from Desenzano del Garda/Sirmione train station to Nago-Torbole

Hello Everyone,

We arrive to Lake Garda around noon on Friday in a couple weeks. Looking for the best or most efficient way to get from train station to Nago-Torbole? We don’t want to spend too much, so ideally the most cost efficient.

Thank you for any help you can give us!

If you are going to Torbole by train (no matter where you come from), the fastest way is probably taking the train to Rovereto (on the Verona Bolzano railway line).

Then from Rovereto station there are direct buses, of the Trentino Trasporti company, to Riva, which also stop at Torbole.

Another alternative is to take the bus from Peschiera, and go up along the eastern shore. A bus change may be required at Garda (town). Probably slower than the first option via Rovereto.

There are buses from Garda (the town) that run all the way to Torbole but the buses from the bottom of the lake - Peschiera del Garda. Sirmione - stop at Malcesine necessitating a change.

There are also ferries but a ferry the length of the lake is probably 3+ hours long and again would probably mean a change at Malcesine.

I think Roberto's solution is the best - especially because all these solution only get you to Torbole not Nago-Torbole and even though it's very close it means one more connection. North of Malcesine transportation options are reduced.

Hope this turns out to be simple for you, have a great trip,

Roberto's plan is best. And the ferry can be painfully slow.

Thank you for the advice! I went with Roberto’s plan. Looks like the cheapest, most efficient way.

Much appreciated!
