Our trip isn’t until April and it appears there will be a match when we are there. Any suggestions or advice?
There is always a football match somewhere. But look at the home team's website, they should have tickets for sale.
soccer/football is pretty constant, seems more like basketball than American football, so if they are in town you should be able to catch a match.
Start trolling their website and also ask at your hotel for the best or easiest way to do this. I think you will need to be careful about where you sit in the stadium if you are fans of the home team. For that matter there are probably several footie clubs in Milan.
Tickets don't don't go on sale to the public until about four week prior to the match.
Teams typically play domestic league matches on Sunday's. There are also some mid week matches against other European teams or domestic cup matches.
Head over to the team's official websites:
The two Milanese teams share the use of the same San Siro Meazza stadium on alternate weekends, therefore there will be a match with either tram (AC Milan or Inter FC) playing at home on any given weekend.
Go to the website of the team and purchase tickets. The site will redirect you to the third party ticket vendor website.
