Hey all,
I'm doing some travel research on behalf of my brother and his wife. They have a limited time in Europe this July, to attend a friend's wedding in Lake Como. My brother has been to Europe once, and loved Paris, so he wants to start his trip with 4 nights in Paris, then they're staying in a shared AirBnB for 3 nights in Lake Como, then coming to stay with me in Stuttgart, Germany.
When spitballing I wondered if it might be possible for them to take a scenic train from Lake Como to Germany, but the train time is double the regular driving time. Doesn't seem worth it at all.
From Paris to Como also seems problematic, I see there's a night train but I don't think they'd want to take away a night in Paris for that kind of transit.
As a result of all this, I've suggested their best bet is flying into and out of Milan, which seems to often have a lot of good deals with the budget airlines. But I just wanted to run this by the smart people here and make sure I'm not overlooking anything.
