How would you recommend going from Padua to Venice for a day trip? And then getting back? Also is there a "last call" for when should leave Venice and have a way back to Padua? TIA
Train
Station names:
Padova
Venezia S Lucia
Check Trenitalia and see when last trains leave Venice
https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html
Regional train - no need to purchase in advance
Can’t sell out, price never changes
Trains run every 20-30 min up til about 10 pm.
I'd plan on second to last train.
Thank you for the information!
I have just read that there is a train strike planned for the day we have available to take a trip from Padova to Venice St L. Does anyone have a suggestion on how we could still travel there and back on the 21st of Sept? Especially if you have done another way vs the train options.
Thank you!
Bus. I’m sure there’s plenty. I know there’s a regular bus that we took to Marco Polo, I’ll bet that continues on to Piazzale Roma or a separate line does. People often overlook local bus routes like this, but it’s likely cheaper and faster than the train.
Thank you! Last night we were able to get tickets on the itabus with reserved seats. It was sellling out quickly!
