How would you recommend going from Padua to Venice for a day trip? And then getting back? Also is there a "last call" for when should leave Venice and have a way back to Padua? TIA

Regional train - no need to purchase in advance
Can’t sell out, price never changes
Trains run every 20-30 min up til about 10 pm.
I'd plan on second to last train.
