Recommendation for Good Walking Tour of Florence & Uffizi?

I have been to Florence several times, but am going with a friend in early June who has never been to Italy. I have never taken a walking tour (I have been on tours of the Uffizi and always found them worthwhile) and thought it might be nice our first day to do one followed by a guided tour of the Uffizi. Any recommendations for tour companies? I would prefer a small group.

I am replying to my own post!! I have found several on TripAdvisor and Artviva recommended in Rick's 2018 guide. I am just going to compare and make a decision.

Do let us know what you find out. I am interested on what other options are.

I generated an entire list of tour company tours I found of interest. I am going to run them by my daughter who lives in Milan (and has lived in Florence) to narrow them down. If you are interested, I can post or send you a private message.

We did a blitz of Florence on a day trip, using Walks of Italy—overview in the am and Uffizii in the pm. Experienced guides, all need government credentials to guide, and we had an art history PhD for the Uffizi. I did notice that many guides freelance for different companies. We were happy with Walks of Italy.

Oh wow...pretty sure your daughter would have a lot of info. I would definitely be interested. Thanks!

I will send you a private message once my daughter reviews. If you don't hear from me within a week, I may have forgotten so just send me a message.
