Best Tuscany Terme

Have you tried any of the thermal baths in Tuscany. I'm most interested in those around Val D'orcia. I would like to avoid the sulfer baths because of the odor. Which ones have you found to be the nicest, without breaking the bank? We will be there in April. Thanks!

Our favorite natural hotspring is cascadia Saturnia. It is in southern Tuscany near Pitigliano. It is free and has a series of cascading pools. It's not smelly and isn't too hot so you can stay in for quite a while. Last year we visted many Italian natural hotsprings and Saturnia was by far our favorite.

Thank you Becky. We are also considering different hot springs for our trip this summer. Saturnia is on our short list. Good to know that we won't have to smell like sulfer for a few days!

There was some smell, but certainly not as strong as many hotsprings. We spent about 2 hours in the springs and then changed from our bathing suits into our clothes in the car. We didn't shower until many hours later, and none in our group felt stinky.

I love the Saturnia cascades but I smelled like a rotten egg for days and through a couple of showers. It was worth it, but it is stinky. It is free to lounge in the natural pools of the waterfall at Mulino which is a public park. Wonderful.

We are heading to to Tuscany in 5 weeks. We are staying in a town called San Casciano Dei Bagni which is renowned for their hot springs (no smell). Apparently, down the road there is a spa resort called Fonteverde which by all accounts is a treasure!
Also there is another little town about 30 minutes away called Bagno Vignoni that has received high marks for its natural hot springs.
