Best transport options to Venice Marco Polo airport from hotel

I am looking for a reasonably priced option from our hotel (which is in the vicinity of the Rialto Bridge) to the airport. Our flight departs at 1130am and I am trying to choose the best option. I don't want the slowest route but am looking for an efficient transport . Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

There only 3 ways, vaporetto-bus, Alilaguna boat, water taxi. All three have good and bad points.

vaporetto- bus is lowest cost and will deliver you right to the airport entrance. You have to make a transfer from vaporetto to bus at Piazzale Roma. Takes maybe an hour if you take the No 2 boat from Rialto. Costs 12 euro with a combi ticket.

Alilaguna boat will take you from Rialto to the airport in about an hour for about 15 euro. Bad part is that the dock is about 600 yds from the airport entrance.

Water taxi will get you right from your hotel (or closest dock) to the airport in about 30 to 40 minutes. Again the airport dock is a long way from the actual airport and they run about 100 euro, but if it is split with 3 other people, not that bad.

Alice, if you use the vaporetto-bus option, and are operating with a vaporetto pass that is still valid on your day of departure, then you can catch the vaporetto to get to the bus plaza with no additional cost, and the bus to the airport is about €6.

I would use the vaporetto pass if possible, note that it is based on hours, not days.

In February last year we bought our vaporetto pass at the train station and we did not pay extra for the bus to the airport. We were told by someone at our hotel that our pass was good for the vaporetto and the bus to the airport. When we left we took the vaporetto and then swiped the pass on the bus and it worked. We were happy to hear the beep but if it had not worked we could have bought tickets on the bus. If you decide on this route you might check with someone at your hotel to see if this option exists.

Technically, the vaporetto passes are good for boats only unless you choose it with either a one way or round trip airport bus adder for 4 euro each way. Sounds like you found a flaw in the actv ticketing recording system.
