Hi Fellow Travelers,
We are planning to take the train from Venice to Florence and then after our stay in Florence, we will go to Amalfi Coast. Can you suggest a the which station and rail I should take that would be most convenient. Our hotel in Florence is near Basilica di Santa Croce di Firenze.
From Florence we are going to Positano. I heard it's best to take the train to Naples and a taxi to Positano
Please give recommendations.
Thanks
www.trenitalia.comto search high speed trains.
Use Italian station names:
VENEZIA SANTA LUCIA
FIRENZE SANTA MARIA NOVELLA.
NAPOLI CENTRALE
(or also SALERNO, beyond Napoli)
Two ways to Positano.
One is via Naples (Napoli). Then in Naples you could take a Circumvesuviana commuter train to Sorrento and a bus from Sorrento to Positano.
To me the easier way is to stay on the train beyond Napoli, and get off at SALERNO. From Salerno I would take a boat to Positano. More beautiful way to Positano. Alternatively you can take the bus from Salerno (change in Amalfi) or a taxi or limo.
Be aware that a taxi or private limo from either Naples or Salerno would cost you at least 100€.
The Venice to Florence to Naples railway is also served by high speed trains of the www.italotreno.it company.
Thank you so much Roberto!!! That really helps with my booking.
Have a great day.
