Not sure what best is for you and every Italian place has great food.
Try Sermoneta or Sperlonga or Gaeta.
Do a Google Image search and see if you like them.

Ferentino is a pretty hill town with layers of history and architecture, not far outside Rome. Not at all touristy. Limited food options in the city center but there are a few places on the main piazza.
