Best Tours in Venice, Florence, and Rome.

Hello,

My wife and I will be in Venice, Florence, and Rome for 10 days this August (With a Day tour to CT). We were wondering what places are better with guided tours to prevent us from waiting in very long lines and that also help us get the most out of it. We want to see places like the Duomo, Colliseum, St. Mark's Basilica, Sistine Chapel etc. We dont mind spending money on a couple guided tours so we were hoping to get the right ones to help us get the most out of our days.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Check out Walks of Italy.

We did three, two in Florence and one in Rome. In Florence we did the walking tour in the morning, which includes the Accademia and the Uffizi in the afternoon. We only had an afternoon and evening in Rome before catching the flight home the next morning, so we did the evening walk.

The size of the group is kept small and the guides were wonderful. The next time we are in Rome we plan to do the VIP Coliseum tour and the Pristine Sistine tour.

I can highly recommend Walks of Italy for tours in Rome. We did the WELCOME TO ROME: TWILIGHT CITY STROLL & GELATO-TASTING and it was excellent. Since it was March, our group was small, only us and one other couple. Some of the tips we got really enhanced the rest of our time in Rome. We also loved the Pristine Sistine tour from the same company. We were the only ones on that tour! We did not do a Colosseum tour and found that we were fine with just using Rick's info. Not so for the Forum, I would recommend a tour there, we felt like we could have gotten a lot more out of it.

Walks of Italy is fantastic like everyone says. We did 2 in Rome. The underground Colloseum and Pristine Sistine. Well worth every single euro! Another in Rome we did that is highly rated is the Travestere Twilight Food Tour with Eating Italy. You need to make reservations as it books up quickly. Small group, all sorts of out of the way places, sampling food and libations...very unique and a highlight of ours.

If you book Walks of Italy, you get 10% off using the current Rick Steves Italy book passcode.

Thanks to all! I didn't even know about the Walks of Italy. We will probably try either the Colliseum one or the Sistine Pristine as they both look pretty amazing!

Thanks again!

We did Walks of Italy in Rome, Pristine Sistine May 9, 2017. We also did one with them in Venice end of April. Both were excellent. In Rome we arrived at the meeting place which is a piazza with a coffee bar right there. The coffee bar was open and serving coffee and great crescents at the ready so if you arrive with some time to spare you would give yourself time to enjoy that. The tour guides have to sort through the radio's and name tags for the different groups and then collect their groups to walk over to the entry point of the Vatican. Once we got to the entry point we stood in line nearly half an hour there where the guides talked with us about what we were about to see, We went inside closer to 8 am. One person fainted and care was promptly found for him. The Vatican has their own emergency responders. The tour was fabulous and worth the cost and time. We had plenty of time in each area. Finding a cab rank after wasn't to difficult.
