Best tour guide in Rome

Five years ago, We took my parents to Italy, and had an awesome time. I secured a private tour guide because I wanted them to see all of the highlights. After a couple of computer crashes, with no back up, I have lost the name, and contact info for the guide we used.
I know this is shooting at a moving target, but can I get suggestions about the best tour guide in Rome??
Our last guide was an art history major, and a licensed guide. She was early 30ish, and spoke perfect english.

She was so good, I would love to use her again for a trip with my brother and family.
Thanks for any help.

Francesca Caruso (already mentioned) was our local guide during one of our Rick Steves tours. She is also featured in Rick's Rome DVDs. Although Francesca is Italian, I seem to recall that her mother is American, which probably accounts for her perfect English. She is very knowledgeable & interesting.

We used Danielle Hunt of Mirabilia Urbis Tours and flat out LOVED her. She's smart, personable and engaging.
She graduated magna cum laude in Classics from UNC- Chapel Hill with a year in Rome studying Roman archaeology and ancient history at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies. She completed her M.A. at the Vatican School of Paleography, Diplomatics, and Archivism. Daniella thinks her visits are a success with adults and kids alike because, as she says, "While I'm an eternal student, I also love teaching. And of course I'm passionate about the city of Rome and Italy in general: its art, history, literature, and culture...My visits are organized to be educational and fun. I want my customers to experience the city of Rome and fall head-over-heels in love with it."

Hi Jeff,

Perhaps Allison Beatty? I have a friend who suggested her and I can pass along her email if you are interested!

Sounds like a guide our group of five used last June, for a tour of the forum & Colosseum- an art history grad, same age range, and an absolutely wonderful guide. Her name was Maria Claudia Cristofano, and I booked her through privatetourofrome.com , although I believe this is only one of a number of companies that act as booking agents for the same pool of guides. I had used the same company on a previous trip, and was assigned a guide by the name of Bruno, who was also excellent, so I asked for him again last year. He was not available at the time, but all five of us were delighted with Maria.
