We are looking to reserve our tickets online for the Vatican on a Saturday in May-what time of day is best to go? I've read both first thing in the morning or afternoon? We will already have the "skip the line" tickets, but are leaning towards first thing-it will be cooler in the museum (so i've read)...Any advice will be very helpful!

We did an afternoon session (which was crowded) but we were allowed to go in earlier than our ticket time. I'd go for the morning session.

No matter when you go the museums will be crowded. In the morning you'll have to deal with the tour groups going through. In the afternoon it's mostly those with tickets and not a lot of tours. Either time will work out about the same.
