What is the best time to climb the Florence duomo? We are going to be in Florence for 2 nights (Friday to Sunday) in June as part of our 2 week trip. We are going to the Accademia at 8:15 and plan about 2 hours or so there on Saturday morning. Would early afternoon be best for the duomo? Or later in the afternoon or evening? If morning is the best, we could possibly do the duomo climb on Sunday morning, before we head to Venice, but I’m not sure if it’s open on Sunday.

My educated guess is that the best time to climb Duomo is in the morning. It's not that hot and you are fresh.

Sunday the Duomo is not open until 1:30. We did this climb last June on a Sunday and we had the first open ticket at 1:30. Glad we went at that time as it gets hot. If I had the option, I would have climbed in the morning.
