Best site to use to prearrange taxi service in Italy from FCO to city center

I would just book a private transfer from either www.romecabs.com or www.romeshuttlelimousine.com. Both are great and will have a driver waiting for you after exiting customs/immigration.

We've dealt with romecabs.com many times and have always been pleased. We just arrange it all with them via email.

Congrats on your upcoming trip, Al! I agree with Donna that a car service is the better option. Check out Rome Chauffeur if the options Donna provided are booked up. Typically, the car services book up pretty far in advance, so I'm not sure if there will be availability this close to your trip departure date.

When in Rome proper, check out the "my Taxi" app for requesting a taxi. It's the taxi equivalent of Uber. One of my Rome tour guides highly recommended the app, especially if you're looking to get to places outside the city center.

Have you contacted your hotel? Many hotels work with a particular taxi/car service for a decent rate.

I booked with Rome Cabs. We are staying not too far from Trevi Fountain, and the hotel wanted 77 euros, for a one way from FCO to them. I thought it was a bit pricey. So...locked in with Rome Cabs for 50 euros.

Wife and I are traveling with a local celeb here in Atlanta who does a Saturday AM gardening show and a lady well versed in Italy travels. I expect we'll see lots of gardens, but the itinerary is exciting, just 30 of us in the group. Looking forward to 3 days/night in Positano/Amalfi Coast...Capri and an overnight ferry to Palermo, Sicily for 2 nights, another in Agrigento and then 3 nights in Taormina, among other adventures.

Just for other readers -- The taxi service from the airport to city center is 48 euro for four people and luggage. Very reliable. Just go to the taxi que/starter and they will take care of you.

I used Welcome Pickups over the last 3 years in Rome, Athens and Barcelona. Great service. Rates same as Taxis and they send you a picture of the Driver so that you don't miss him at the Airport.
