My girlfriend and I are planning a trip where we'll be spending 5 nights in late October in a Tuscan agriturismo - except that we haven't picked a place yet. We've narrowed it down to a few places: Podere San Lorenzo outside Volterra (which we've seen tons of great reviews for), Le Fonti a San Giorgio near Montespertoli (also seen good reviews for), Montalbino near Montespertoli (which we've seen no reviews for), or La Bruciata near Montepulciano (also seen tons of great reviews).
We want to spend several days just exploring the area near where we stay, along with a side trip or two to Siena, Florence, or both. Any thoughts on what would be the best region of Tuscany to make our home base? And does anyone know anything about Agriturismo Montalbino? Thanks.
