Getting ready to order my map. It sounds like Michelin is well rated. I will have my rental car for one week, and will be driving pretty much in Tuscany/Umbria only. Michelin the way to go? Thx.
I like to take my Garmin (or any other brand) GPS navigator with Europe's maps loaded in it. Then if you want a map of Tuscany just to get an idea of where you want to go, you can buy one there at any shop and you'll save money.
The Michelin Toscana 1:200,000 served us very well. Have fun!
Bring your GPS from home loaded with EU maps, and a small fold out Michelin map.
Try viamichelin.com and print out your maps if you only need a small area
The free map Avis gave me was better than the Michelin map I bought. I highly recommend relying primarily on GPS and using the map for reference. No matter how good a navigator one is, some turns are not well marked and easy to miss.
