I'm looking for recommendations for the best "authentic" restaurant in the Trastevere neighborhood. No touristy, local cuisine. Thank you.
"best" is a very difficult thing to define.
Two places I've repeatedly gone back to, and never been disappointed are:
Capo de'Fero on Via di S. Cosimato and Ai Spaghettari a hundred yards or so further on in Piazza San Cosimato.
The former is often full of priests , which I've always found to be a good indication.
I found Carlo Menta a couple of years ago. The food is generous and honest, imho. They recently published a book about the history of Trastevere and the political role Carlo Menta played in it. Very interesting read. It made me see the restaurant as a 'player' in local politics. From the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, walk with your back to the church. Carlo Menta will be a couple of blocks on your left. Big outdoor seating. If there is a line: wait! I think it's worth it.
Da Enzo us a very basic-looking place and quite small. I was lucky to walk right in and get a table for lunch in May 2015, but I think reservations are generally needed. I've heard the place is a popular after-hours spot for off-duty chefs. It specializes in local dishes.
All of these are on Villa della Pelliccia in Trastevere, a block from the church:
La Tavernetta 29 da Tony e Andrea
Casetta di Trastevere
Hostaria da Corrado
There are SO many good food options in Trastevere, you really can't go wrong!
hey hey Kevin
agree with Robert, while roaming the area came upon Carlo menta, sat outside along other diners, and enjoy pizza, pasta and the best tartufo dessert. Enjoy

Be careful what you ask for. I know a restaurant that's exactly what you describe. No tourists. Local cuisine. In Trastevere.
