Best public transport Naples/Ravello/Sorrento/Capri/Naples

We'll go at end of August for 12 days. Stay in Sorrento is longest (6 nights), as it appears to be easy to get to other places on the coast from there. I've done some research, but would love some human commentary on best ways to move around. Our thoughts are hydrofoil or ferry from Naples to Amalfi and bus from Amalfi to Ravello. Bus from Ravello to Sorrento and bus from Sorrento to Capri or are ferries better and easy to and from these locations. I expect that Capri to Naples is best on hydrofoil or ferry and then train to airport hotel for departure the next day.
Can you take luggage on hydrofoil and ferries?
Thanks in advance for any input!

Capri is an island therefore the bus from Sorrento to Capri would not be a good option because the bus would sink.
You can go to Capri via boat (hydrofoil or slower ferries) from nearly any locations (Naples, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi).
You can take luggage on ferries/hydrofoils.
You could actually stay the whole 12 days in one location (Sorrento) and take day trips from there. There is no need to hop around hotels, everything is close by. At most you might consider a few days in Positano or Amalfi, for a romantic stay on the Amalfi coast. You can visit Capri on a day trip from Sorrento. It's really close by boat.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I realize Capri is an island! Wrote too quickly.
We land and depart from Capodichino airport. I thought you can take a train from there to Napoli Centrale Station and go to the docks from there. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
We would stay in Naples 1 night and go by boat to Ravello. We would stay in Ravello two nights then go to Sorrento for 6 nights. Then to Capri for 2 nights and back to Naples airport hotel. We have friends who adored Ravello and while we could stay in one place, we thought it would be lovely to stay in several to get the real feel of the towns. We do plan on visiting Positano, Amalfi and Pompeii.
Any more advice is welcome. We've been to Northern Italy (Bellagio, Venice and Bergamo) and Southern Italy (Spoleto, Florence, Campobasso (this because we visited my grandfather's birthplace of Macchia Valfortore!) but this is the first time we'll be seeing the Amalfi Coast and surrounding areas.

I also like staying in several towns rather than daytripping everywhere.

There is a bus from Capodicchino airport to Napoli Centrale.

If you can, try to visit Paestum for a day or two. Different than any other place you will visit.

The airport is a short distance outside Napoli, I would spend the last night in Napoli and reserve a taxi for your departure morning.

The easiest option from Capo airport is to take the Alibus directly to the port. Runs every 20 min.

Tickets are 3 euro/4 if purchases on the bus. Take the ferry to Sorrento. 2 options here: bus to

Piazza Tasso 1 euro. Staying in Sorrento first is the least taxing option. Other option is to take

the next ferry to Amalfi. You would then catch a bus from here to Ravello.
