Best place to stay in Le Marche?

Im going to be 5 days in Umbria, and after that I want to visit the Le Marche region.

I'll be staying in hill towns in Umbria, so Im open to staying in a beach town for a couple days. I looked at Sirolo and San Benedetto, but really need some advice. I can stay 2-3 days anywhere....

Ill be going in early November.

Thank you!

Sirolo is a pretty little town up the hill overlooking the sea. It’s up the hill but you can walk down to some nice beaches. Last July I stayed at the Numana Palace hotel, at Marcelli di Numana, almost walking distance from Sirolo, but down at the beach. The best sea in Le Marche is probably in that area around the Mt. Conero. I presume you will have a car because I don’t know how easy it would be without one. I noticed however you are going in November, so not really beach weather. Under those circumstances I’d choose a bigger town, like Senigallia, Pesaro, or Fano. San Benedetto is also nice, lots of palms on the Lungomare (sea promenade).

we enjoyed Pesaro. It has a nice pedestrian-only downtown and is on the train line if you don't have a car.

Stay in Pesaro and visit Urbino from there - another exceptional hill town.

Was just in Senigallia. It is a very pleasant town with many sites and restaurants. Will you have a car? If so, recommend staying at the Castello di Monterado. Excellent atmosphere, rooms breakfast and staff. And a great value in early November. They close for the season around November 15.

Another vote for Senigallia. We visited in October years ago, staying at Hotel Palace. We did not have a car so this hotel was perfectly situated, an easy walk from the train station, restaurants, the beach … too cold for swimming but a lovely miles long stretch of sand if you like walking by the sea. It was a very comfortable hotel with sea-view balcony & breakfast & very reasonable price … not sure if they’re still open in November but worth checking.

Senigallia has great restaurants, including two with Michelin stars. It’s a very walkable town.

From Senigallia we took a bus to the 14th century walled hill town of Corinaldo. Nearby also are the Caverns of Frassasi.

Le Marche region is truly a hidden gem. A wonderful plate all year round and even in November there are many things to see. It’s amazing for Truffle hunting at this time of year and also wine tasting and watching the olives go through the press! I would recommend at that time of year for a few days staying in one of the larger towns such as Perugia or perhaps if you want to see more on the coastal side you could stay in Macerata which is quite beautiful or Ascoli Piceno perhaps.
