My family is headed to Italy this summer for the first time. We are staying in Florence and would like to do a day trip to see the countryside to get a little break from the city but have no idea where to go. Any suggestions?

If you don't have a car, the Chianti Tour offered by Tuscan Trails gives you a healthy dose of beautiful scenery, along with some great wine.

Take a day trip with WalkAboutFlorence. We did 2 of their trips out of Florence and they were BOTH fantastic. We did THE BEST OF TUSCANY TOUR and THE CHIANTI WINE & FOOD SAFARI TOUR - check them out on their webpage. There are also photos and reviews on TripAdvisor - but if you book, please do so on their webpage - NOT on TripAdvisor which uses Viator as a 3rd party booking. We loved BOTH of the tours - the scenery is stunning.
