Hello people of RS, After listening to your good advice and deciding to rent a car to visit the Hill towns, I have come upon an unplanned conumdrum. After booking all the accomodations; we are leaving Riomaggiore on a Sunday and will be checking into Siena that evening. I was hoping to rent a car in La Spezia. Turns out, all rental car agents are closed on Sundays except the Airports at Pisa and Florence, and the train station at Florence. Since we will have already been through Florence on our way to CT I was thinking Pisa, but I thought I would run it by ya'll in case anyone had any better ideas.

We ran into the same problem as we will be arriving in Tuscany on a Saturday PM. This rental agency was recommended to us www.aesserent.it. We do not have any experience with them but they have been most helpful and will be open for us when we arrive. ( we are not travelling until May) Even though they are based in Chiusi which is a distance from Sienna,You may be able to contact them and they may be able to recommend a local Sienna company.

Sundays, you're limited to the Florence Airport. City locations are open during the day, but on Saturday night, you're limited to the airport. Hertz closes @ 11:30 p.m. every night.
