We will be coming to the Cinque Terra from the south on September 16. Should we park our rental car in La Spezia? Is it safe to leave it? I read there are 3 lots in La Spezia, 2 free and that the furthest lot from the center usually has spots available. How far would that be from the train station, La Spezia Centrale?

We parked in a large lot in Monterosso for four nights. Check as it’s been awhile. Our hotel sent a car to pick us up.

In which town are you staying? There is a parking structure in Monterosso (old town) and Riomaggiore. Monterosso also has a lot on the beach (new town, aka Fegina). The other towns have a small parking lot. Reaching any of the towns requires driving on narrow curvy roads (basically one lane wide but serving both directions of traffic, so be careful not to scrape the sides. The vehicle going uphill has the right of way, by law.
If you don’t feel comfortable driving in narrow spaces, then La Spezia Centrale Parking or Monterosso Fegina (lot on the beach) don’t require super narrow roads to reach.
