I'm meeting a friend in Florence this fall, but we're arriving about 45 minutes apart. She wants to wait at the airport for my flight to arrive and then we'll take a taxi to our hotel together. She will have a checked bag to claim so I assume she'll have to leave the secure area and won't be able to meet me at my gate. Is the TI desk the best place for us to rendezvous in the airport and is it easy to find in the arrival area? I can't find a map of the terminal anywhere. Thank you.

Just tell your friend to sit down at the only bar/caffe' and when you arrive yell. The airport terminal is smaller than most American homes, so your friend will hear you yelling. If you don't want to yell, just go to the bar after retrieving your luggage and get your friend. Hopefully she won't be wasted drinking while waiting for you. The bar is up the stairs near the entrance.

there is a pretty nice cafe in the Florence airport. great coffee, espresso, and pastries. Easy to kill 45 minutes there. There is only one entrance to the terminal when you disembark, no gates. There are rows of seats in front of that singular entrance and a lot of folks stand around waiting to connect. The cafe is to the left. Its a very small terminal.

Thank you Roberto and Jim. It's been a few years since I've traveled to Italy and we didn't linger at the airport in Florence. Sounds like we won't have any problems connecting.
