Has anyone gone on the Best of Tuscany tour? If so, what did you think of it? It is 12 hours leaving from Florence and goes to Sienna, lunch at a wine farm, then to San Gimignano, a drive through the Tuscan countryside and finally a short stop in Pisa. I know that is a lot in one day and not much time at each place, but I doubt I will get to those places if I don't go on this day trip.
Just an FYI, Grayline in Florence has a similar tour. It goes to San G. for an hour and then to Siena for about 4 hours. No lunch but you do get a guided tour. My wife and I have done this one. 52Euro each and includes admission to the basilica in Siena. Grayline in Florence is operated by CAF Tours. The buses load across the street from the main train station.
Hi Mary Beth, I am originally from up there (Butler), and now live in VA. I am doing this tour "Best of TuscanyTour" in July. I have read great reviews on the tour, you can go to Trip Advisor and read some of the recent ones.
See if you can get there from this link, you may have to copy and paste. IMHO this is a wonderful day for the price.
Thanks - we will be there in July too - I am really considering it, so hopefully it will be as good as it sounds.
I believe that you will really enjoy it. My thought on it was, yes we are not spending a lot of time at any one place, but if we see that we want to go to any of the towns and spend more time, there is always a bus, and it is not far or expensive. But you get t good taste of the towns. We will be in Florence for 14 days so we have time. We have the tour booked for July 15, booked it several months ago. Maybe we will run into each other. Good luck, you will love Florence, this is my second trip.
