Best Of Rome Tour

Hi folks,
Advice needed on our Rome tour in June. My wife has low vision, she can see and does pretty well overall but wanted a heads up if possible. Is there anything I need to know about the tour and any special problems with walking etc.? Also, Hotel Lancelot ? How is it as a hotel? Thanks for any comments!

I think that the rough pavements, cobblestones could be an issue. It is an issue that can be solved by taking your arm on the rough places.

Yes, I agree with Carol. I had not been in Rome in years until last month and was shocked at the state of the sidewalks - broken, jutting pavement, missing pavers. Maybe it was like that before but it just seems like so many trip hazards. When you are with the group I'd stay right behind the guide so you can see the pavement ahead of you. If you are back in the pack your view of the surface ahead may be obscured. Definitely have her take your arm.

Have never stayed at this particular hotel so no feedback on it.

We enjoyed Hotel Lancelot on the Best of Rome in 2018.

Staff is professional, multi-lingual, and friendly, and can arrange a transfer by taxi from the airport, which we used. The driver was prompt and helpful. Yes, we could have taken the train and walked, but after 14 hours on a plane, I am glad we took the taxi.

There is an elevator to upper floors. Breakfast each morning was very nice. The area surrounding the hotel is quiet and close to the Metro, as well as bus lines. There are steps up to the lobby and down to the breakfast area, as I recall.

We would stay there again.
