Would love to meet other tourgoers for these dates. If you're interested in introducing yourself to the rest of the group that you'll be traveling around Italy with, pop by the chat link. On another note, I wish there was a search function on the Rick Steves travel forums. Maybe I'm just missing it.

Edit: another poster pointed out that when she clicked on the link it wanted her to install the
Facebook app. Hopefully those who have Facebook can access the link easily.

Hi Mala, thanks for sharing the link to the FB group for the tour. As for your question about the search function, it’s actually already available right at the top of the website. :) If you’re looking for specific information, you can use the search bar at the to find it. Just type in the keyword or topic you're interested in, hit "GO!", and then look for the "Filter by type" column. From there, you can select "Travel Forum" as the filter, and it will narrow down the results to forum posts only.

I'm not going on that particular tour, but I clicked the link out of curiosity.
The link asked me to install FaceBook, which is odd since I have an account there. Not sure anyone would be willing to go further.

Thanks LizinPA. I don't know why RS sent me a DM to start a chat but I assumed it was sent to everyone on this particular tour and I just happened to be the one to start it. It WAS a FB Messenger note to me so makes sense that you would need to have FB installed to view the chat. Maybe you need to also have messenger installed.. not sure. Will have to see if someone who already has FB and Messenger
is able to access the chat more easily. I know a lot of the people on these tours have been on multiple RS tours and probably aren't interested in the chat group but hopefully a few will respond.

I also have a FB page for anyone interested in going to Sicily - Rick Steves Best of Sicily 11-Day Tour 2025. I started this page because I could not find everything I needed to know for the Best of Sicily in 11 Day Tour and what I did find was not reliable or questionable. I added a disclaimer that I am in no way affiliated with RS. I guess like you, I wanted a way to connect and gain knowledge from others taking the RS tour during 2025. However, I was also cutely aware since it is a RS tour the numbers of followers would be small if I only included the tour group date (even if anyone found it on FB); I made mine private. Once you make your group private you can never go public. I made mine private to help protect the group members privacy. I included the whole year 2025 for the Best of Sicily in 11 Day Tour. Once again, it will benefit everyone even thinking about taking a tour to Sicily, maybe even after 2025 is over. Additionally, if anyone wanted to connect before the tour (on their specific date), it would give them an option or encourage others to join a specific group tour during 2025, because maybe they liked the participants on the FB page (that is if they were on the fence about taking a tour). Either way, my suggestion is to make yours for the whole year 2025 to capture a larger group of people on FB and just maybe you will get great info on traveling to Italy before arriving as well as during your tour.
