I am planning a two week trip this June. I'll either fly into Athens, Greece or Rome, Italy. Will spend a week in each country. Greece, Athens then visit two Islands. Italy, Rome, Florence and Venice. What is the best method of transportation to travel between each country? And between the 3 cities in Italy. Bus? Thank you!
Lynne,
The easiest and quickest method for travel between Greece and Italy is via budget airline. For flights from Athens / ATH to Rome / FCO, have a look at either EasyJet or Aegean Air.
For travel between the three cities in Italy, train is absolutely the best choice! Using the EuroStar Italia / Alta Velocita will minimize your travel times.
If you haven't travelled by train in Italy before, I'd highly recommend reading the "Rail Skills" chapter in Europe Through The Back Door.
Cheers!
Thank you for the information. Lynne
