We're a family of 4, and I plan to rent a car while in Florence to drive through Tuscany as a day trip. We're staying at an AirBnB apartment near SMN and I would prefer to rent only for the day.
Looking at Europcar, I'm having a challenging time picking the location that would be best. Does anyone have a recommendation for for the best location in Florence to hep us get out of town and avoid ZTL zones?

Europcar on Borgo Ognissanti is walking distance from SMN.
Getting out of there is not a problem. If you decide to return at the same location you will likely run into the ZTL camera. Ask the car rental agent for instructions. You can return it inside the ZTL, but Chances are they will need to place your car license plate number in the White List of the City website in order for the automatic ticket not to be issued. You could return it at the via Forlanini office (that's the office I use generally), which is in the Novoli district, but from there you are too far to walk to your accommodations and you will need a taxi or the bus number 22 (which you would take from via Di Novoli, next to Europcar.
