Hello - we are flying into Venice - staying 3 nights. Then want to visit Florence (4 nights) and Cinque Terre (2-3 nights) then Rome (3-4 nights) then on a cruise from Rome. My question is are we best to go Venice, CT, Florence, Rome? Or Venice, Florence, CT, Rome. Or does it really matter? Thanks for the advice. I so appreciate it.

Looks like 6 of one, half-doz of the other. You might plan it like: so you are not in the CT over a weekend when it is likely to be the most crowded.

You can travel to Cinque Terre via a same day stop in Milan to see the Duomo etc.
