Best Italian restaurants

Has been presented the 2020 list of the 50 best Italian restaurants: https://www.50topitaly.it/en/
Two things can be noted:
1) 3 Number One restaurants are in Emilia-Romagna of 4 categories.
2) Of the top 3 restaurants in the 4 categories, only 2 are located in Cities (Modena and Rome), the others are in little towns and villages. That means: discover Italy wandering around, not be focused only in cities!

Another consideration is that I have taken cooking lessons from two of the top 4 chefs, but this is only personal :-)

For me the best food in Italy is always at a very noisy, crowded, no multi-language menu, filled with locals. That's gonna be real Italian food! The house wine will be what the family drinks. The portion sizes will be what Mamma wants for you (my favorite 'Manna" said: I'll tell you when it's enough! as she kept the pasta coming). The service will be slow enough to let you enjoy everything about the evening, including looking and commenting on what others are ordering. The best staff will help you select from each course (and they are always right!). Dessert isn't too sweet and the afterdinner coffee/sambucco or grappa or limoncello are a gift from the server. And the bill? It doesn't have to be over 100 euro! It can be 70, 50 or even 30 euro. My favorite meal? That was the 30 euro feaste (felt like a buffet) in Trastevere, Roma. Oh to get back there!

Emilia-Romagna has long had the reputation for having the best food in Italy, which I find interesting because it is also the heart of the”red”belt. What’s amazing to me is that you have be clueless or work really hard to find a bad meal in Italy. Not that it can’t be done . . .
