Best hotel in Rome for large group/extended family with young kids???

The whole extended family is going to Rome in November. We have 9 kids included in the group, with about 35 people total. Can anyone recommend a good hotel with family rooms or suites large enough for the kids to be comfortable (we have 3 kids and would like to stay in 1 room)? One party suggested staying near the Vatican, though I'd prefer the Pantheon area, so we can take quick trips out to see stuff close by. Comfort is more important than cost - the elders like their luxury - but we still need to costs reasonable (I'm hoping for a good group rate).

I briefly considered that but I don't think the lifestyle would fit the older members of our group. I am taking a closer look at albergo del sole al pantheon - it has that annex with 6 family rooms (but some reviews say they are dirty and worn - anyone have personal experience there?) plus the hotel for everyone else. It would be great if we had the run of the whole annex! Another candidate is the albergo santa chiara - can you tell that I really want to stay near the pantheon?!!

We may have to change to 4 people a room, which is still a tall order, I know...

I would suggest you check renting a villa. With such a large group, you would be able to look meals and save a little $$$ The outskirts of Rome are beautiful and public transportation is great! The whole experience of living among the locals will be worth the whole trip!

The Hotel Artemide is centrally located on via Nazionale. It's an upscale hotel with nice interiors, elevators, wonderful big included breakfast buffet and nice staff. They also have some family rooms. I've stayed there and highly recommend them.

I'd consider a monastery or convent guest house as they have "family rooms to take 4/5/6 people and they are good value, well located and very clean. Have a look at www.monasterystays.com which is a good site recommended by a friend. I'm using them on my trip to sicily later this year.
