Any suggestions for places that are either central or near a metro station? Ostella Bello is booked full for our dates and I don't know of any other highly-reviewed, popular hostels. We are trying to stay under $100/night for 2 (my husband and I), but can go up to $120/night if necessary. Traveling Mid-May during the weekday, staying 2 nights. Priorities are cleanliness and more modern furnishings, over having more space. Thanks!

You can try booking.com. I see lots of places in your price range, maybe a little out of the center on bus or tram lines. Expo2015 Milano starts May 1. That plus conventions seems to have raised the prices and availability in Milan in May.

Prices are higher now for Expo, but try Hotel Garda a couple of blocks from the station.

Hi,
We used www.airbnb.com for 3 years and never had a bad experience with apartments.
Last summer we stayed in hotel UNA in Milano and it was pretty good -modern, clean , and expensive ...(compared to the great apartments we had before with free internet, washer, kitchen...etc)
