Best GPS phone app for driving in Tuscany

On my iPhone I have Apple Maps, Google Maps and I have just downloaded the ViaMichelin app as well because I have seen this mentioned a few times on this forum.

For people who have spent time crisscrossing Tuscany by car, what is your preferred app to use for GPS routing and directions?

In the US I use Google Maps, as it’s my preferred app.
However when I go to Italy every year I use Waze, which is the preferred app used by Italians, including taxi drivers. Maybe because so many locals use it, Waze is better at warning you of certain hazards, especially speed camera machines, which I consider the biggest hazard in Italy (and there are tens on thousands all over Italy). Google Maps doesn’t warn you about speed cameras as you pass them.
So become familiar with Waze and its icons. The speed camera icon looks like an old style camera.

In Waze you can also set the alert to warn you when you exceed the speed limit by over 5km/h (which is the speed at which the speed cameras trigger an automatic fine.

If you are not at all familiar with Waze, I suggest you test it at home. Make sure you set it for Kilometers instead of miles in the settings. Also set the speed limit and speed camera warnings ON.
