We will be arriving in Italy on the Saturday of All Saint’s Day weekend this year in late October. My plan is to spend one day in Rome then on Monday, the actual holiday, to travel to Venice. Can anyone tell me if this sounds like a good plan? This is an important holiday in Rome according to Rick’s book and I was hoping to avoid some crowds by using the holiday as a travel day. Also, with so many sites closed on Mondays, it seems like the right day to board the train. I’d appreciate any thoughts and if anyone has been in Italy on All Saint’s Day it would be great to know anything about what we should expect.
