Best day tour to see Siena from Florence

Anyone experience a day tour they enjoyed traveling from Florence to Sienna and surrounding area?

I see WalkaboutFlorence has tours. But, honestly, you could take the bus from Florence to Siena and with the help of a guide book see the major sites (even take a tour within) and enjoy people watching in the amazing piazza. It's such a cool town!

I agree with Terri. Buses leave regularly from just next to the train station in Florence. Here's a web site that gives you some good information: https://travelpassionate.com/how-to-get-from-florence-to-siena-by-bus-and-by-train-italy-travel-tips/

You can get a walking tour of Siena if you want, or just explore on your own. It's a very easy place to enjoy with just a guide book (or even just randomly walking). If you want to join a walking tour, just Google "Siena Walking Tours" and you'll find a myriad of options.

And the advantage is you will be on your own timetable. If you want to linger, you can stay late before returning to Florence. If you've seen enough, you can go back earlier.

I second the above post. Good guidebook and skip the tour. Take the bus from Florence, visit the cathedral. That cathedral is just incredible. If you can get one tour it would be one the cathedral offers taking you up into the cathedrals upper level for views of the interior below and to the outside of the cathedral, going outside which allow an incredible view of the area surrounding Siena. We did this tour last spring, stayed in Siena 6 nights.

edit to add a bit more on the tour of the cathedral. If you look at pictures of the interior of the cathedral you will notice lots of statues up high around the whole interior. From the floor these are impressive, from above your at eye level they are strikingly impressive, much more so.

Thirdly forget a day tour group and just go at your own pace it is going to be too crowded there already
