We would like to visit Lake Como on a day trip from Milan. Are there any days of the week that we should avoid due to heavy tourist traffic? Thanks!

What time of year?
As with any place of this type, anywhere in the world, tourists will be there all week. "Locals" are likely to visit on the weekends adding to the temporary population influx.
