I'm in Rome for 9 days last two weeks in September. Round trip from NY to Rome. For the best flight rate is one day of the week any better than another to fly? John

Always mid week is best. Tuesday or Wednesday seem to be good. Just go on line to your airline and start to check fares compared to the day of the week, you will see the drop. It's not dramatic, but you can save a couple hundred dollars.

Everytime that we've traveled to Europe, we found the best rates for departures on Thursday evenings and returns on Monday or Tuesday. The last time we traveled, we found a surprisingly good rate using Aer Lingus. The travel experience was great - new large planes, on time and great service. Good luck!

I always check on skyscanner.com of kayak.com for the best fare then move to the airline website to buy it.
