best budget means of transpotation

I arrive in Rome and plan to stay for 3 days. Then I travel to Positano for several days, over to Sorrento then back up to Rome at Camping Village Fabulous to rest a couple of days before flying out.
What is the best transporation modes that I can take in order for me to get to my destinations? I understand that 1st class on the train would be the best way and am willing to pay for the difference to ride 1st class. I think that I will need to catch buses to get to the smaller towns but I can not find any schedules or routes that I should take.

Who told you that you should go 1st class? There's absolutely no good reason at all to ride 1st class on the trains in Italy especially if you're even remotely concerned about your budget. Read Ron In Rome's take on this: 1st class versus 2nd class And you can save a TON of money buying your tickets a few months in advance when they are heavily discounted.

Or use the slower, but much cheaper, Regional trains. Tickets not discounted so you can buy day of travel.

"Budget" usually signifies least expensive. 1st class is not least expensive. Plus, in Italy, you don't need it. The 2nd class seats are really quite nice. Second, you can ride the Regionale-class trains between Rome and Sorrento. www.trenitalia.com runs the trains between Rome and Naples. The Circumvesuviana train (www.vesuviana.com) runs between Napels and Sorrento. You will need the SITA bus or ferry to get to Positano from Sorrento. Again, not very expensive.
