We will be spending 2 nights in Capri this week, Tuesday and Wednesday. My family really wants to do a boat tour and the blue grotto. Recommendations on best boat company to use, both private and commercial? We are planning to take first boat of day because of crowds, if available. The amount of information and bad reviews from some has me worried on who to use. Thank you in advance.

"Best" is a relative term but I recommended this company for a honeymooning couple some years ago and they were delighted with their tour. I see that it's still getting 5-star reviews.

You understand that the Blue Grotto is inaccessible if the seas are too rough, right? Also, they may not be able to do it if the line of boats with other visitors waiting to get in is too long: I'm pretty sure you have to transfer from Gianni's boat to one of the little rowboats used to squeeze through the entrance but confirm how that works if/when you book. If that one doesn't work out, they take you to some other scenic grottos.
