Best Beaches for swimming in June in Sicily

Is the water warm enough in June?

You can Google Water Temperature plus the name of a coastal city or town to get historical data. I don't do beaches, so I have no idea.

It generally is.

Sicily is an island with appproximately 1,000 miles of coastline (about 700 miles in the main island and the rest in the smaller islands), so I think there are more beaches that one can possibly list in this box.

Tell us which part of Sicily and which locations you are visiting, and we can suggest a few good options in your itinerary.

I was there in early June last year. We went to beaches near Scopello and the water was cold but swimable. Lots of people were swimming. That’s on the NW side of the island, it is possible there is warmer water elsewhere.

I was in Cefalu early June 2016 and the sea was so cold that only a couple of people were swimming and kids and teens were playing in the waves. Then on to Lipari where the beach posted all of the jellyfish possibilities.

Loralee,
Beware of the jellyfish! I was in Sicily this past May, and saw many small jellyfish while visiting Taormina (Isola Bella beach), Milazzo, Lipari and Salina.

I asked my b&b owner if these jellyfish sting, and she said, “yes, of course!”

Have a wonderful trip!
